ELECTRICAL WORKS

01

Temporary power supply

Temporary power solutions for the construction industry are vital in ensuring that any lighting is provided, as well as power for basic building tools and equipment so that work can proceed.

02

Electrical switchboards

Electrical Switchboards are an integral part of the Power Distribution System. Different Electrical Panels in a Switchboard divide the Power into smaller components and distribute them across various Devices.

It performs a Controlling Function and hence acts as a guard for the power system. So, it is highly important that you take at most care in installing Switchboards in order to avoid instances of Electric Shock. The following Considerations must be kept in mind before choosing an Electrical Switchboard.

Electrical hazards and safety

The safety of your family and the building should be the first aspect that is considered while buying an electric switchboard for your home. Switchboards control the entire Electrical System, so it is important that you understand the Details and Specifications of the Equipment which will best suit your Use. It is always better to consult a Qualified Personnel who can guide on understanding the Specifications Required. Make sure you choose a device that surpasses all the Safety Needs of the Building.

Ideal Location

Ideal Location for Home Switch Boards The location of Switchboards must be finalised considering near to Entrance to Rooms or Passage, at Proper Height Levels for Easy Accessibility, Operation & Maintenance.

Ideal Location For Main Switch Boards The room allocated for installing your Switchboards should be Spacious, Easily Accessible and Well Ventilated. It is generally observed that most of the Electrical Rooms are decided at the end of the Planning Stage resulting in Cramped Spaces. Also, it is important that you restrict the Entry of Kids to this room in order to avoid Electrical Hazards.

Efficiency and functionality

Efficiency of Home Switch Boards: Efficiently Working of Switch Boards will Reduce the Cost for Repair/Replacement & Valuable Time of Shut down Required for Replacement.

Efficiency of Main Switch Boards: Only an Efficient Switchboard can operate under Unforeseen Circumstances. For instance, a Generator must Automatically Function in case of a Power Failures during the day or night. The Efficiency of a Switchboard and its Functionality are Interconnected. In order to make it User-Friendly, Colour Coding, Proper Address Labelling can be incorporated into your Devices. It is also highly important to use switches that have an Interlock Mechanism. This will protect the Entire Circuit system from Control Failures.

Reliable Brandy

Quality, Reliability & Durability are the other important factors that will Determine the Lifespan for your Electrical Equipment. Always use switchboards of Reputed Brands which have surpassed all quality and safety standards. Try to talk to your peers or a Qualified Personnal to understand the commonly used brands dealing with electrical household equipment. It is always advisable to choose brands which will offer you good customer service and long warranty periods for your devices.

Customisation

The design of a switchboard depends on various factors such as the type of construction, the capacity of current and voltage it can hold and insulation type. Some types of construction require exclusive designs, and in the case of such customisations, it is always ideal to depend on a credible brand for their experience and knowledge. They can offer you a specialist who has expertise in strategising advanced electrical technologies according to your needs.

Installation & Maintenance

Once you make a purchase, it is always wise to call a company expert or a qualified Personnal for proper installation. The most important thing to be noted while installation is the appropriate fabrication of all the devices to ensure safety. Also, during the purchase, it is important to read through all the terms and conditions of warranty and double check on the maintenance services offered by the company. Mostly, switchboards of reliable brands have a long lifespan if maintenance is done at proper intervals

03

DB & Circuit Breakers

The main cable comes into the distribution board and then via breakers get distributed in the secondary circuits such as lights and plugs. For optimal performance of every device, it is necessary to maintain a proper power distribution and is crucial for home and appliance safety. Distribution boards are not just a mere enclosure but an overall system in itself having neutral links, earth leakage unit and interconnecting wires for the sole purpose of proper electrical distribution in your house.

Generally, in Main Switch Boards you should size a breaker for 125% of the load (or 25% extra capacity) and no less. Oversized breakers can allow wires to heat above safety levels without stopping the current. On the other hand, undersized breakers may continuously trip under normal operation.

04

Overhead Solutions & Underground Solutions

Overhead lines are generally mounted on wooden, concrete or steel poles which are arranged to carry distribution transformers in addition to the conductors. The underground system uses conduits, cables and manholes under the surface of streets and sidewalks. The choice between Overhead and Underground System system depends upon a number of widely differing factors. So as per the Site Location & Requirements, a Qualified Personnal will be able to decide which type of Distribution Cabling System shall be Implemented considering factors like operating voltage, amount of distance the power to be transmitted, initial cost, maintenance cost, condition of land through which the line is to be passed.

05

Generators

You can face a long list of inconveniences and expenses, including spoiled food, frozen pipes, flooded basements, and moldy walls. And when it goes on for days or weeks—which can happen after a major weather disaster—the pain only gets worse. Indeed, one major blackout might be enough to prompt you to buy a generator. For Generator installation and Approval from authorities the best Option for you is to approach an Expertise Personnel who would design and Implement all the legal and practical works for the Approval of Generator.

06

Permanent Wiring

With the options available in the market today, it is a common human tendency to get lured towards low – cost products. But, considering the same behaviour towards wiring outlets can be risky and life threatening, and it cannot be a place to act economically. Selecting the recommended and certified parts / equipment is ideal. This is because certified parts are thoroughly tested for all its parameters and performance indices to ensure that they do not pose a safety risk when used. Hence, ensure that the used products used are certified which will help in keeping you safe and also increase the lifespan of the electrical system.

07

Outdoor Wiring

When thinking about outdoor electrical safety, special precaution should be taken in relation to working with outdoor lighting systems as these can be especially dangerous in wet conditions. All of your outdoor lighting fixtures, light bulbs, and more should be weatherproof and protected by ground fault circuit interrupter (GFCI) breakers. If your bulbs need to be replaced or you are adjusting your outdoor lighting, make sure that you turn off your outdoor circuits beforehand to prevent shock and other dangers.

LED Lighting

LED are not jest for indication anymore powerful.

LEDs are not jest for indication anymore powerful lighting LEDs or chip board (COB) LEDs can produce thousands of lumens, and even low-power LEDs are becoming more specialized. These six design considerations can focus your approach.

LED Color Temperature

While you probably know how bright you want your LED to be at least when it comes to the choice between using a blinker on a circuit or a light source, color temperature and lumens per Watt may be a lot less obvious. Color temperature only applies to white light: it’s the measure of how cool (bluish) or warm (reddish) the light appears. This can be deceptive because the color of light, measured in Kelvins (K), officially describes the appearance of a metal (black body radiator) burning at various high temperatures. Therefore, the “cooler” or bluer colors are actually higher in temperature. Warm light is generally considered 2700K to 3500K, neutral white is about 4000K, and cool white is anything above 4700K.

The light temperature you choose is dependent upon the type of consumer or industrial application you’re building. For example, warmer colors tend to make people look better and food more appetizing. Warm (reddish) light is even used in grocery stores to make the meat and produce look more appealing. Cool whites are the common choice for office environments because they mimic daylight and increase serotonin

production, keeping people more focused, alert, and energized. Because cool white lights are easier to achieve with the current LED die and phosphors available, LEDs at high color temperatures tend to be cheaper and more efficient. This chart shows the temperature difference between warm (fire-like) light versus the cooler (daylight) white light.

LED Light Wavelength

Another common issue people have when selecting LEDs is that the shade of green or blue is not what they expected. To get the color you really want, you must pay attention to the wavelength spec to determine if you’re going to get a true green versus a yellow-green

LED Efficiency – Lumens per Watt

Efficiency is measured in lumens per Watt (lm/W), which is the total lumens emitted by the LED divided by the total power consumed. As a rule of thumb, customers tend to aim for 100 lm/W from an entire system. This includes any losses due to heat, lensing, light guides, and power conversion, so often an LED with 140 lm/W or higher is necessary. Big names in LED lighting like CREE and Samsung offer LEDs with up to 200 lm/W, and note exactly where it is possible to achieve that rating. The maximum efficiency of an LED is often achieved at a current much lower than the maximum rating, so lighting is far from exempt from the cost-vs-efficiency discussion.

LED Indicator Lights

If your application requires simple visual notification—the blinking lights on a router, for instance—you can simplify the entire process and go with an indication LED. Indication LEDs are available in just about any color and can be as large or as small as the application requires. Arrow carries LEDs in 0402 packages up through 10 mm T-3 packages. Buying pre-packaged bar lights and groups of LEDS can save you time in your next design.

LED Wavelength Visibility

Visibility depends on the viewing angle of the LED and how well our eyes see the selected color, as well as the lumen output of the diode. For example, a green LED run at 2 mW may look as bright to us as a red LED run at 20 mA. Human eyes see green better than any other wavelength, and the sensitivity trails off toward infrared and ultraviolet on either side of that peak. Check out the visible light spectrum below for reference. Red is one of the more difficult colors to make bright to the human eye because it’s closer to the edge that shifts into non-visible infrared light. Ironically, red is the most common color used as an indicator.

LED Viewing Angle Explained

The viewing angle of an LED refers to the distance from the center of the beam before the light has lost half its intensity. Common values are 45 degrees and 120 degrees, but a light pipe or other light guide, which focus the light into a beam, will likely require a tighter viewing angle of 15 degrees or less.

Energy Saving Methods

In the modern world there is no time to waste.. so it will be very great idea to implement a system which works on its own.. actually we are speaking of Smart Sensors which detect the presence of object and Switches ON the Lighting system on its Own. It’s a great idea Right.. we not need to bother to find the switch boars in a dark room instead the sensor will find us and turn on the lights.. these ideas can be implemented in many applications to ease our life… and also suppose if we forget to turn off a light while leaving a room.. the smart sensor system will automatically turn it of after a specific time.. so it’s the idea of Design Engineer to practically explore the Site and implement the Sensor system

Electrical Maintenance

The electrical system plays a vital role in our day to day life, and the entire system needs to be maintained in a good condition for the safety of the dwellers as well as for the home. Faulty electrical wirings, can be dangerous and must be taken care of by a professionals. They should be replaced at the earliest if they show any signs of malfunction to prevent any hazards. A well-maintained electrical system lasts longer and also gives a peace of mind knowing that your home is safe.

Few tips that will help you maintain your home electrical wiring

Routine Check

Having a regular check on your electrical system is essential similar like of personal health. A routine check on your power outlets and wirings can be helpful, and you can do this by yourself without an assistant’s help.  A good check on your electrical system twice a year can help you acknowledge a potential problem before it is too late. Earlier the issue is known, easier it gets to resolve the problem, and avoid risks due to failure. Whether it is a small Fault, it is necessary to pay attention to it as it may be dangerous tomorrow so it is necessary to get it checked by professionals at the earliest.

Mixing of Water and Electricity should be avoided

This comes across as common sense, but yet you will find cases of electric shocks at home. The reason could be cleaning of appliances by wiping or washing with water. One needs to unplug the appliances before doing so. Another way to avoid these mishaps can be by keeping appliances like hair dryers, electric shavers away from the water sources like bathroom sinks. Sockets should be placed away from showers and other areas having wetness due to water. A constant check of wiring is required of these areas. Also, avoid multitasking with things like hair straightener and washing of hands. If you witness any current hit when you touch a gadget or pipe, it is time to call for a professional help.

Avoid Overloading

Overloading is one the most common problems found with home electrical systems. It is important to act smart when it comes to how to use gadgets. Knowing how much power your appliances utilize and how much power your outlet provides is essential and can help avoid mishaps. Kitchen appliances should have outlets of their own as they consume a lot of power. Plugging in multiple devices into one circuit can overload it and cause a power outage. So the professional way of avoiding overloading is to get the consumer an awareness of what all loads can be plugged in to a Power Outlets and by proper addressing.

Replacing the damaged wiring

Keeping a regular check on your power outlets is essential.  If you notice that outlet cover is warm, it is a sign of danger and usually means there is something wrong with the wiring which has resulted in increase in temperature. If you see any damaged wires, they should be immediately replaced with the help of an well trained electrician. Avoid repairing or covering the wires with tape to cut down purchasing costs.

It is always good to be alert when it comes to the safety of your homes. Purchasing the right electrical and certified wires can make the running of your electrical system smooth.

Replacing of Faulty Appliances

Now a days it is very easy to replace a fused bulb by own. But when it ccomes to a case of Ceiling Fan, Water Pump, Tripping Issues, it need a primary check up before removal so a professional is necessary for the work.
